How I Prevent Desktop Crashes in the Sims 3

Even though I'm on an 8GB computer, here are my tips to preventing desktop crashes in the Sims 3, and that's what most of you can do when you experience a crash.

  • Make sure your game is up to date. A healthy game might be always up to date, no matter how many CC you install. Or how many times you play it. In fact, don't overuse the CPU on your task manager, prefer to play in windowed mode because it's easier for you to access the task manager, by going through the taskbar>right click>open Task Manager. If you see just your mouse and the game just stopping working (with animations continuing), force closing it through the task manager.
  • Prefer to play in Windowed mode. It's easier for you to access whatever you want by playing in windowed mode. Even the smallest crash can be present in Windowed mode. As mentioned previously, it's easier for you to access the task manager (and not only).
  • Add the game to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP). This can prevent almost every crash of your game. You can go to Control Panel>System>System Overview (something)>Advanced System Settings.
  • Save in different game slots. This helps preventing error codes 12, 13, and 16. I got an error code 12 two years ago and demanded the whole forum for an answer. Check your CPU in the task manager, if the app "eats" CPU or not. Do NOT overwrite save games, they may cause you error codes, so avoid overwriting save games, or overpopulate worlds! You can read about this one here. (I don't know the link)***
  • Make sure you have lots of free space on your hard drive. A secondary drive is necessary for a gaming PC, since I'm on a laptop 1TB of HDD does the job right. You can save whatever you want, but even if you have VERY little hard drive (or SSD) space try holding off the usage of your PC or laptop and use it after a couple of days if you prefer. Easiest thing to clean useless files is CCleaner, google it and it's free to download!
  • ***As for the save thing; save 1-2 times a week to prevent getting glitches on the family or the lot like duplicated lot instead of family icon or stand alone family icon with empty lot. It happens most when playing a sub world off the World Adventures pack (France/Egypt/China). I've had one with Moonlight Falls, but it didn't have to do with the World Adventures pack! Ever since I saved in Sims University & overwrote the file (quite some time later), NONE of these happened. Absolutely NONE of these, I mean. Because of a powerful laptop!

These are pretty much what I do when I play The Sims 3. Ever since it's a very demanding game and requires a powerful PC, make sure you do the following I stated above, they'll help you out, so watch out unexpected crashes and game on!

Origin Stuck in Offline Mode with Network Connection - FIXED!

Hey guys and I'm back with another problem... bug I mean.

I'm in ABSOLUTE sorrow right now. Whenever I try logging in to my Origin account it displays that offline mode is now unavailable. But my computer IS online! I try over 100 times but it just DON'T stop. No matter what. It don't stop. What may be WRONG with me? Or is it just ban?

Nah. The thing isn't ban to me, but a bug with power cuts. Or slow internet connection. And of course nothing wrong with antivirus. I tried looking for a solution on the forums, no shit, waited patiently but glad didn't try to rant like an autistic 9 year old or whatevs. Excuse me I'm trying to be a little rude here, but never mind, I thought of going Dark-like and ranting my ass to the forums, hence there'd be some voice buzzing in my head, y' know what it is, I'm not gonna say it.

The TRUTH: yes, it's server errors. Surest thing ever, be prepared. Thanks to my powerful computer I bought in June. Heh, I never thought of the same old 2GB boring irony, but sure thing I'd act like Dark or Ashley!

It's back now, I'm happy.

Log-In Bug?!

Not trying to be rude but a little while ago I couldn't log in to my Origin client to play Sims 4. Does this indicate I got banned outta the blue? Or was there any problem with the app itself, or the server? There was a problem with the server, now it's back to normal. Am I that unlucky? No other Friday would result in such MESS.

Night night.

The Gallery IS DOWN!!

Hey guys, I checked out the feed on my gallery and it's down. Yes, it's DOWN. This means that it's in maintenance, but whatever, it don't mean I got banned. I'm fine, in a perfect state, but all I get is "one or more of The Sims online services are currently offline". WHAT?! My computer is ONLINE. I don't know how it happened but the Gallery is down. What kind of autism is that I don't know.

Therefore Origin itself is ONLINE. It's just a temporary bug according to the forums. It's like when I got the "site is down for maintenance" message on the good old The Sims 3 site.

I didn't want to post anything on the forums because of ban insecurities, nevermind, it's just a temporary bug that will last a few hours ;'D ;'D

Thanks.

And again thanks.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU INSTALL WORLD ADVENTURES EXPANSION PACK FROM ORIGIN!!!!!!!! (Important)

Beware guys, what happened to me will happen to you. I warn you because what I'm explaining to you is important, especially for those whose Origin games include The Sims 3.

Let me get straight to the point.

A couple weeks ago I attempted installing The Sims 3 on my D drive through Origin. It installed well, and when I opened the launcher, I saw it was updated. To the most recent version of the game, 1.69.

A couple minutes later I think, I decided to install World Adventures expansion pack. Then High-End Loft Stuff. Then Ambitions. On Ambitions gameplay I checked a new world: NO it wasn't Twinbrook, but a new world. Called Adventureland. I thought it was normal, but not. It had the icon and description of Sunset Valley so I thought, let me load Twinbrook once.

So guys, if you attempt to install The Sims 3 and its expansion/stuff packs, do load any other town except Adventureland! It may get you a serious error during loading or after successful loading it may get you a blank map, so don't ever attempt to load this town! NEVER, EVER, EVER!
